Grand Canyon

In 1908 on this day, the Grand Canyon National Monument was opened.

In 1957, J.B. Priestley wrote this:

"I remember coming across him at the Grand Canyon and finding him peevish, refusing to admire it or even look at it properly. He was jealous of it." as quoted by J.B. Priestley in Thought in the Wilderness referring to George Bernard Shaw
