Fictional Saturday-Enjoying Work

"Do you ever envision yourself reaching a point where you're intrinsically satisfied with the work that you're doing? Where you're no longer working to get ahead, but simply because you enjoy it?" as quoted by Elyse Keaton, the mother on the show Family Ties, popular television series in the 80s. This quote is from one of the first season episodes titled "Death of a Grocer" when Alex quits his job at a small grocer for the big time and end up going back to the smaller store.

I found this quote so great and so defining for my work. I love my job and what I do. If all I made was just enough for a roof over my head and food, I would be greatly please with it. I don't know that many people could say that.

The speed of life

"There is more to life than increasing its speed." as quoted by Mahatma Gandhi, political and spiritual leader of India; often referred to as the "Father of the Nation"
Though I may not agree with everything Gandhi said or did, I think he hits this right on the mark. Sometimes I look around me and marvel at the speed that life seems to be passing by and finding myself wanting it to slow down...I'm working on slowing myself down a bit more.

Left Handers-Understanding Life

"Nothing in life is to be feared. It is only to be understood.” as quoted by Marie Curie, a Polish-French physicist and chemist...and left handed!

First, I love that we have someone like her to call fellow lefthander.

Second, I love that she said this quote! As a left hander, this is SO my way of thinking. I have got to understand everything! After learning of her left-handedness and this quote, I have become a big fan and am looking getting to know a bit more about her.

Church Signs-when life hands you lemons...

"When life knocks you to your knees, pray there" as quoted off a Church Sign as I drove past.

A nice twist on the "when life hands you lemons..." approach.

Living without you

"If you live to be 100, I want to live to be 100 minus one day so I never have to live one day without you." as quoted by Winnie the Pooh, character created by AA Milne
He may just be a cartoon, but he sure understands loving someone!

Dinner Menu to Life

"There is only one difference between a long life and a good dinner: that, in the dinner, the sweets come last." as quoted by Robert Louis Stevenson Scottish novelist and poet.
That is so true; this is why I eat dessert before dinner sometimes. To represent my life!

Lyndon B. Johnson - December 13, 1963- "We can draw lessons from the past, but we cannot live in it." as quoted by Lyndon B. Johnson, 36th President of the United States.

I know I usually include a picture, but I'm having trouble uploading it tonight. I'll update it I can slove this little dilema.
