Week of Jesus-Charles Wesley

This is our Holy Pascha week for the Eastern Orthodox church. So, in honor of that, these next few days I will be finding quote about Jesus. Let's start today with Charles Wesley:

Gentle Jesus, meek and milk,

Look upon a little child;

Pity my simplicity,

Suffer me to come to thee.

-as quoted by Charles Wesley, English religious leaer and hymnwriter.

Sunday Church Boards-Dead Tales

This week on a local church board was this:

“The Easter story is not dead.”

This, to me, has an interesting double meaning. The obvious one is that Jesus rose from the dead, therefore making the story alive. However, in our Eastern (Greek to be specific) Orthodox beliefs, we don't celebrate the resurrection until after Passover. This year it is on April 27th. If you want the facts, you will find them here.

Lefty Tuesday-Joan of Arc

Today's quotes come from the great Left Hander, Joan of Arc. Both are taken from her trial that took place February to May 1431
"You say that you are my judge. Take thoughts over what you are doing. For, truly, I am sent from God, and you are putting yourself in great danger"as quoted by Joan of Arc, 15th century saint and heroin of France.

"If I am not, God put me there, and if I am, God keep me there!" as quoted by Joan of Arc in response to questioned if she is in God's grace.
